Job Description
The Louis Dreyfus Company is recruiting for the full-time position of Assistant Ginner, based at our Emerald site. This role is responsible for the efficient, effective and safe operation of all areas under their control. While based in Katherine, the position may require travel to work at other LDC gin sites as required. Remuneration is tailored to the level of the role and to the individual depending on qualifications, experience, and knowledge. Relocation expenses can also be negotiated (if required).
Key Responsibilities
* Gin operation and safety
* Assist in maintaining the physical appearance of the gin site
* Maintenance – monitor and maintain machinery and equipment to high standards to facilitate continuity of production and quality
* Employee supervision
* Work permits – assist ginner and site management with ensuring work permits are completed for all high-risk activity
Experience Essential skills
* Mechanical experience or trade background
* Ability to identify and control weaknesses in process and implement best practices
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative and challenge when required
* Good work ethic and team player
* Ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees and external stakeholders
* Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable But Not Essential Skills
* Prior experience supervising staff in a maintenance/production environment
* Sound computer skills
