What's the job?

We are looking for someone with 2+ years in-house or agency experience with Operational skills ideally working in a sporting event related business or with a passion for sporting events.

This role is designed to enhance our brand, promote our participant first focus, while continuing to develop each event story and support our position as a premier event management company. We're looking for a driven, goal-orientated person, attention to detail who's looking to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute social media strategies that drive audience engagement, increase event registrations, and maximise event visibility, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives.
* Manage organic and paid Facebook and Instagram activity, with a strong focus on growing participation and ensure our events look as good on social media as they are in real life.
* Plan, implement, and optimise targeted, data-driven Meta Ads campaigns (beyond simple post boosting) to reach specific audience segments effectively.
* Conduct outreach and collaborate with athletes, influencers, brands, tourism bodies, and media outlets to expand audience reach and amplify event exposure.
* Produce high-performing Reels (using tools such as Premier Rush, Instagram Edits etc.) both year-round and in fast-turnaround environments during race weekends.
* Stay on top of trends and create compelling content (in Canva or Adobe) that resonates with the running community, driving excitement and interaction around our events.
* Coordinate content calendars and stay on top of any cross-functional marketing projects, to ensure everything is delivered on time and runs smoothly.
* Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders to secure consistent and positive coverage for our events.
* Engage with the online community through interactive content, timely responses, and fostering a supportive, enthusiastic environment across platforms.
* Monitor, analyse, and report on the performance of both paid and organic social media activity to inform ongoing strategy.

In return we offer

• A rewarding salary package commensurate with experience and the role

• Encouragement and investment in personal and professional growth

• A supportive and approachable leadership team and mentoring program

• Please note this role will require some weekend work during event season and travel to events.

Our head office is in the beautiful Sunshine Coast, QLD.

We celebrate diverse thinking and experience, and all team members are encouraged to contribute to ideas for clients and participants.
