Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Aged or Disabled Carer to join our Alice Springs team. The successful candidate will provide essential household assistance, emotional support, and companionship for aged or disabled persons within their own homes and the broader community. You will play a vital role in executing personalised support plans and facilitating engagement at our activity centre to enhance the quality of life for our participants.
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities :
* Daily Activity Support: Accompanying aged and disabled persons during their daily activities to ensure safety, inclusion, and engagement.
* Specialised Community Travel: Assisting participants in travelling across various communities surrounding Alice Springs using our fleet of specialised vehicles, including disability-accessible vans.
* Personal Hygiene & Mobility: Assisting clients with physical support, mobility, and personal hygiene, including dressing and grooming, with the utmost dignity.
* Social & Therapeutic Engagement: Arranging and facilitating social activities and community participation, including supporting music therapy, wellness therapy, and arts and crafts at our Colson Street Activity Centre.
* Domestic Assistance: Performing essential housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
* Nutritional Support: Preparing and serving nutritional food and meals tailored to the specific dietary requirements of participants.
* Emotional & Psychosocial Support: Providing consistent companionship, friendship, and emotional support as part of a holistic care framework.
* Shopping & Errands: Carrying out essential shopping trips and running errands on behalf of participants to support their daily living needs.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Education: An AQF Certificate II or III in Individual Support, Ageing Support, or Disability is highly regarded.
* Experience: At least one year of relevant professional experience.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills are essential for providing emotional support and coordinating with service teams.
* Compliance: Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, an Ochre Card, and a valid driver's licence.
Pay: $70,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
