Offer description

Who are we?

Established in 1987, TradeTools is a proud family‐owned company supplying quality tools and equipment to trades and businesses across Queensland and Northern New South Wales. With hundreds of employees across multiple locations, we've built a reputation for providing reliable products, expert advice, and strong after‐sales support.

A key part of that support is our in‐house workshop, where we repair and service the tools and equipment our customers rely on every day.

What do we offer?

At TradeTools, we know it's our people who set us apart. That's why we offer:

* Excellent base salary PLUS commission (based on store performance)
* Weekly pay
* Superannuation, holiday and sick leave
* Employee competitions and social events
* Generous staff discounts on tools and equipment
* Employee shareholder opportunities for long‐serving staff

Last financial year, our Electrical Fitters averaged $87,000 in total earnings.

Our average employee tenure is over 8 years, a strong reflection of the supportive culture we've built.

About the Role

We're looking for a Full‐Time Electrical Fitter / Tool Repair Technician to run our in‐store workshop, specialising in the diagnosis, servicing, and repair of power tools and compressed air equipment.

You'll work Monday to Friday in a fully equipped workshop, providing warranty support, servicing, and repairs for the tools and equipment we sell.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‐on mechanical and electrical fault finding and takes pride in getting tools back to work quickly.

The more repairs you complete, the more you can earn through uncapped commission.

Your Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Store and Workshop Manager, you will:

* Diagnose faults and repair power tools, air tools, compressors, generators and workshop equipment
* Perform maintenance, servicing and warranty repairs
* Liaise with suppliers regarding parts, technical support and warranty claims
* Order parts and maintain workshop inventory
* Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation
* Provide technical advice to customers and assist the sales team when required
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
* Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and processes

About You

To succeed in this role you will have:

* Cert III in Electrotechnology (essential)
* Experience or strong interest in repairing power tools, compressors, and small machinery
* Good fault‐finding and diagnostic skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your own workshop
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Reliability, honesty and attention to detail
* A willingness to learn new equipment and share knowledge with the team

This role suits both:

* Qualified tradespeople wanting a stable workshop role, or
* Early‐career technicians looking to build experience in the tool and equipment industry.

Why Join TradeTools?

This is a secure, workshop‐based role with minimal travel, where you'll work on a wide variety of equipment used by real tradespeople every day.

If you enjoy fixing tools, solving problems, and working hands‐on with quality equipment, this is the job for you.
