You will be responsible for the design and development of formwork, falsework, and scaffolding solutions for a broad range of clients across Australia.
Duties & responsibilities
* Work closely with the design team.
* Provide designs and material take offs for formwork and shoring designs as per the design inquiry, by utilizing Mev-Aus's equipment in accordance with the guidelines and practices, as well in accordance with Australian/New Zealand standards whilst maintaining efficient and effective use of time.
* Complete details drawings for civil engineering requirements details areas such as drainage, sewerage and water requirements, road and bridge structures.
* Extensive experience in the practical use of formwork and shoring and applying these practical experiences to your design.
* Extensive experience in the workflow of formwork and shoring, from the start of loading it on a truck, to delivering it to site, up to installation and finally decommissioning it, while maintaining a clear focus on health and safety.
* Provide technical advice on all products to clients and to associate employees.
* As required complete and direct field work and lab testing.
* Actively promote the supply of leading technical service and leadership by example.
* Exceptional skills in document control.
* Ability to come up with a practical/cost effective solution that is considered as a special condition as it falls outside the Product range, based on the design inquiry.
* Ability to meet strict deadlines.
* As required, discuss civil design options and technical issues with Clients, demonstrating excellent commercial awareness and communication skills.
* Highly motivated to promote safety in design.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Complete site inspections
* Proven skills in dispute resolution and negotiation.
* Understand and be able to read and interpret structural and civil drawings; translate concepts and information into drawings; use feedback to modify designs; apply design principles; demonstrate attention to detail.
* Assist the Engineering Manager with the everyday running of the department including but not limited to reviewing designs, assigning workload and recruitment and development of technical staff.
Experience & Qualifications
* High competency with AutoCad and all Microsoft Office suites.
* Degree in Civil or structural engineering.
* Previous experience in a similar role within the construction environment.
* Extension knowledge and experience of formwork and scaffolding products.
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in formwork design
* Good knowledge of Australian Standards & Regulations and Formwork Code of Practice.
* Experience in multi storey construction.
