An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced fire technician to join the BSA fire division. This role will involve preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance; minor capital works; and 24/7 emergency services for our clients' fire assets.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Providing service, maintenance and repairs to various types of fire equipment eg. Fire Panels and systems, EWIS Panels and systems, sprinkler systems, pump sets, hose reels, hydrants, Emergency Lighting, Gaseous Fire Suppression Systems & Portable Fire Equipment.
- Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Mentoring and supervising apprentices and trainees
- Determining job priorities and meeting deadlines with mínimal supervision
- Coordinating, compiling and submitting the necessary paperwork and other procedures
- Attending call-outs as per rostered requirements
- Maintaining industry knowledge and monitoring market developments, keeping up-to-date with the latest changes and advances in fire technology and relevant Australian Standards
- Commitment to the highest standards of business code of conduct, aligned with expectations on ethical behaviour according to company values
- Complying with company and client HSEQ policies and procedures
**Skills and experience we require**:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in the fire industry
- Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (preferred but not mandatory)
- Current Extinguisher Agent Handling Licence (preferred but not mandatory)
- Fire Panel Programming experience (preferred but not mandatory)
- Electrical License (preferred but not mandatory)
- Sprinkler Fitters' Certificate
- Current Blue/White Card
- Current Open Cabling Licence
- Industry specific certificates i.e. Working at Heights, Confined Space, First Aid/CPR
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
