Job Description
About the role...
In your role you will report to our Night Manager and Rooms Division Manager and be an integral part of the front office team as the hotel representative in the absence of senior management and working with the Front Office Leadership team to balance guest expectations, colleague needs and profitability.
Your success in this job will be largely dependent on your ability to run a smooth night shift operation as well as your strong organisational and communication abilities plus your keen eye for detail to make the necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy of the Hotel's reporting.
* Hold responsibility and accountability for the efficient operation of the Hotel.
* Cross check and balance work completed during the day for all outlets on a shift.
* Warmly welcoming guests, assisting with luggage and ensuring a efficient arrival and departure of our guests
* Ensuring professionalism and accuracy with information and billing during arrival and departure
* Assisting in maintaining responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit team.
* Maintaining procedures for cash handling and security on front desk
* Conducting daily Hotel auditing including balance of revenue and payments from all hotel outlets
* Proactive complaint resolutions, focusing on a win/win outcome
* Promptly responding to all enquiries; including reception, switchboard and reservations
* Ensuring all details of regular guests and Loyalty members are updated regularly
* Proactively working with our security team to effectively manage the safety and security of our guests and be prepared for fire or emergency situations
* Accurately closing off & rolling over the PMS
Qualifications
About you...
* Previous experience as a Hotel Assistant Night Manager and night audit in a high volume hotel, 200+ rooms
* Proven experience with PMS: Opera cloud
* Exceptional customer service skills, communication and time management skills
* Strong Microsoft office skills and an excel expert
* A friendly and warm personality with immaculate grooming and presentation
* Ability to work unsupervised
* A willingness to use initiative and strong problem solving skills
* Possess a proactive and resourceful approach with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to work evening shifts 11pm – 7am over a rotating roster as per business needs, including weekends and public holidays
* Willingness to obtain or have a current QLD RSA and First Aid Certificate
* Qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance desirable however not essential
* Excellence in your field and the demonstrated ability to act as a true ambassador for our Hotel.
* Must hold unlimited work rights in Australia.
