Job description
This is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services, providing a range of emergency, surgical, medical, and general healthcare services, including maternity, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care, community health, and state-wide specialist services.
This position supports the work of the Clinical Director, Adult Acute, Mental Health Program, guiding strategic, clinical, operational, and managerial tasks. The Consultant Psychiatrist is accountable for delivering clinical services, providing leadership, and contributing to service evaluation, research, and planning.
Part-time, locum, or full-time considered.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric services to the Adult Rehabilitation stream and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Program, working in partnership with the Manager/Team Leader to ensure high standards of service, emphasizing excellence, service, care, staff performance, cost efficiency, research, and education within a clinical governance framework.

Position 2
The Lead Consultant Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric services to the Adult Rehabilitation and Mental Health and Wellbeing Program, collaborating with the Manager/Team Leader to maintain high standards of community services, focusing on excellence, care, staff performance, cost efficiency, research, and education within a clinical governance framework.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will join a newly developed Infant, Child, and Youth Area Mental Health Service, working closely with Dr. Neil Coventry, Head of Infant, Child, and Youth Psychiatry, to plan, develop, and deliver community-based mental health services for infants, children, and youth. The role involves providing senior clinical care and leadership within a multidisciplinary team committed to patient-centered, safe, effective, and connected care.
Requirement: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
