We operate 9 lodges in some of the most remote, inaccessible and beautiful locations. Our team of guides, drivers, camp and operations staff are passionate about the outdoors and take pride in bringing our guests on the adventure of a lifetime.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our team as an Assistant Camp Manager at Drysdale River Station in the spectacular Kimberley region of Western Australia. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys being actively involved in all areas of camp operations and takes pride in delivering genuine, memorable guest experiences. Drysdale River Station offers an authentic Outback experience - while it is not a luxury destination, it is rich in character, community spirit, and rugged Australian charm.

Working closely with the Camp Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the property across housekeeping, food and beverage service, guest engagement, and general maintenance, helping to foster a collaborative, close-knit team environment where colleagues become family and exceptional hospitality thrives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Actively participate in daily lodge operations across front-of-house, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance to ensure a smooth guest experience.

* Support the Camp Manager with daily coordination, task allocation, and efficient operation of the camp.

* Assist in implementing policies and procedures that support operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and compliance.
* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all areas of the operation.
* Monitor guest feedback and assist in resolving issues promptly and professionally.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
* Cover the Camp Manager's duties during their rostered days off to ensure continuity of operations.
* Conduct regular quality checks of guest accommodation, lodge facilities, and grounds to maintain presentation and cleanliness standards.
* Assist with reservations and administrative tasks, including managing the reservations inbox alongside the administration team.

This is a remote position, and you will be required to live and work at one of our properties for the entire season. We provide all meals and accommodation. Please be aware of the unique challenges and limitations associated with long-term remote living. Our season operates from April - October.

ABOUT YOU

You are a motivated hospitality professional with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for working in unique environments. You thrive in a team-focused setting and enjoy contributing to a welcoming and high-quality guest experience.

Requirements:

* A genuine love and appreciation for nature
* Minimum 3 years' hospitality experience, ideally in an assistant or supervisory role
* Experience in food and beverage service (high-end experience preferred)
* Remote First Aid and CPR certification
* Valid driver's licence
* Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
* National Criminal History Check (mandatory)
* Food Safety Supervisor certification
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
* Forklift licence

REMOTE LIVING

Our camps and lodges are located in some of Australia's most remote regions. Many cannot be accessed by road – instead, you'll be flown to site from Darwin via our private aviation network. You'll live and work onsite for the entirety of the season, without regular access to nearby towns or cities.

This lifestyle offers a rare opportunity to disconnect from the everyday, immerse yourself in nature, and connect deeply with Australia's vast and beautiful landscapes. While it comes with unique challenges, it's also one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have.

WHAT WE OFFER

* Amazing opportunity to work in a dynamic, growing tourism business
* Generous discounts on Journey Beyond travel and experiences
* Accommodation and meals provided
* Employee Referral Policy
* Private Health discounts
* Employee Assistance Program
* Discounts on Journey Beyond merchandise
