**Your new role**
This role is responsible for the purchasing of stock for the workshop floor, covering all departments each with their own different key attributes. These include monitoring general stock items, ordering in specialty items and organising forecasted necessary stock. As well as negotiating with suppliers being a key component of this role.
Typical matters that will be faced are communicating with the workshop supervisors, ensuring that there is a high level of organisation in for scheduled purchasing, maintaining stock levels to an optimum and implementation of new procedures and systems, to improve on store efficiency and effectiveness for purchasing requirement.
Key elements of the role include:
- Cost Control by ensuring lowest cost for all products is achieved through sourcing different suppliers, which in turn ensures best possible outcome for the business
- Data and reporting, ensuring that goods and service purchase requisitions are accurately processed and correct, and records of current product lines are being maintained/updated
- Transparency in communication across different departments regarding timelines, ensuring that all purchases required are ordered in a timely manner and are readily available for upcoming business/operations needs
- Stock control and adequate holding of appropriate stock. Maximising on efficiency of stock levels with no disruption to workshop operations including consumables
- Purchasing for all stock, service & repairs and new vehicle purchases and directing Supply Chain Officer on this
- Ensure all necessary parts on bill of materials are ordered according to schedule
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing industry
- Ability to take direction and execute required tasks in a timely manner
- Basic Microsoft Office experience
- Mechanical, automotive or engineering background is desirable
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks
