Senior Engagement Worker/Caseworker - Reconnecting Lives Program

Our Reconnecting Lives Program is all about helping people move forward — supporting residents as they transition from St Bart's accommodation into secure, sustainable housing within the community. Using a person-centred, housing-led approach, we help people reconnect with community, build confidence and independence, and create stable futures beyond homelessness.

As the Senior Engagement Worker, you'll be right in the thick of it — supporting consumers through big life moments while bringing your experience, ideas, and positive energy into a fun, passionate, and purpose-packed team.

This is the kind of role where no two days look the same. One minute you might be helping someone settle into a new home, the next you're problem-solving alongside colleagues, celebrating consumer wins, or helping navigate complex challenges with empathy and creativity.

Reporting into the Team Leader, you'll bring energy, initiative, and heart to a role that's rewarding, challenging, and inspiring.

Responsibilities

A day on the job will see you:

* Supporting the Team Leader to deliver a high-quality, sustainable, and consumer-focused service
* Managing a caseload of consumers, including supporting people with more complex needs and circumstances
* Developing person-centred and trauma-informed recovery plans using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
* Assisting consumers to establish and sustain tenancies, including property set up and early intervention when housing is at risk
* Collaborating with tenancy teams, community organisations, and external stakeholders to coordinate supports and advocate for positive outcomes

Qualifications and experience

Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:

* A qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Social Science, or a related field (minimum Cert IV)
* Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, AOD concerns, or involvement with the justice system
* Strong understanding of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and wellbeing-focused practice
* Confidence supporting consumers with complex needs while building trust, rapport, and meaningful connections
* The ability to provide guidance, support, and knowledge sharing within a team environment
* Strong assessment, planning, and problem-solving skills

What's in it for you?

* Pay: Competitive salary, plus NFP salary packaging giving you the potential to gain $18,500 in tax benefits
* Leave: 23 days annual leave, that's 3 days more than the standard 4 weeks
* Perks: Lots of social activities, expand your experience by joining a consultation committee, interact with the people we exist to support
* Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
* Career development: Training, accessible leaders, growth and advancement opportunities
* Culture: Exceptional workplace culture – we work hard and have fun while we do it
