Hays Specialist Recruitment is thrilled to announce new opportunities available for experienced Civil Labourers with a Medium-Rigid (MR) Truck Licence to work through Hays alongside crews in the City of Gold Coast Council's Infrastructure Maintenance branch. Your new role


As a member of the City Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and improvement of the city's roads, footpaths and drainage networks. This involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the infrastructure is safe, efficient, and well-maintained. Your work will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation for the community and preventing flooding and other drainage-related issues to safeguard the city's infrastructure. Your duties will include but will not be limited to:

* Maintenance and patching of council roads, concrete kerb and channel, footpaths, bike ways and associated works
* Maintenance and patching of storm water drainage systems, utility holes, gully pits, inlet/outlet structures, pipelines and associated works
* Operate minor machinery as associated with required work
* Ensuring the safety and control of the public at worksites
* Assisting with site clean up to ensure a tidy and efficient workplace

What you will need to succeed:


As an experienced Civil Labourer, you will lead the charge in maintaining the Gold Coast's infrastructure. Your expertise in civil works, concreting, and pipe laying, especially with stormwater pipes, will be crucial to excel in this role along with your commitment to safety standards and quality-assured work. To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following mandatory requirements:


* Construction White Card
* Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (or higher)
* At least 12 months of proven experience in maintenance, civil works, concreting and pipelaying
* Previous asphalt and bitumen experience (highly desirable)
* A strong commitment to adhering to safety standards
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* An up-to-date CV detailing your industry experience, along with two recent references to support your application
