Your impact
Jacobs is looking for an Electrical or Senior Engineer – Power Systems Consultant ideally with minimum 3–5 years’ experience to join our T&D team.
This role is suited to engineers ready to take the next step you will work across steady-state and dynamic power system modelling and analysis through to earthing and EMT studies, while developing your technical depth and confidence in consulting delivery.

What You Will Do
You will contribute to consulting projects across a diverse technical portfolio, including
Applying power system fundamentals to practical challenges (operations, protection interactions, compliance)
Supporting and progressively leading steady-state and dynamic modelling / analysis
Producing clear, high-quality outputs calculations, models, reports, and presentations
Delivering and supporting engineering studies in earthing and EMT (safety-critical outcomes)
Collaborating with senior engineers and specialists to learn best-practice methods and build technical ownership
Using AI / emerging technologies where appropriate to improve efficiency and quality (e.g., automating repetitive tasks, accelerating analysis workflows, improving documentation quality, and extracting insights from data)
Client-facing capability (highly valued — and supported)
This is a hybrid engineering and consulting role, so a client-facing mindset is highly desirable. You don’t need to have everything mastered; we will support you to grow.

Here's what you'll need
We are hiring for the right talent and attitude—someone who is curious, rigorous, and ready to grow.
You will have
* Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline). Ideally working towards or holding Chartered status with Engineers Australia (or equivalent).
* A solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, basic physics, and control system fundamentals.
* Strong fundamentals in circuit theory and electromagnetism, applied to power system earthing, system operation and protection considerations and, critically, safety
* A demonstrated willingness to learn and grow, including taking on new technical and client-facing responsibilities.
* Resilience and adaptability to work across varied tasks from advanced power system modelling and analysis to earthing and EMT studies.
* Experience or exposure to one or more of these software packages CDEGS, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSSE, ETAP (If you’re strong on fundamentals and motivated to learn, we still want to hear from you.)
