Dennaya Care is urgently seeking an experienced and reliable Support Worker with demonstrated training and experience in mental health, specifically in supporting individuals with schizophrenia and complex behaviours. This role involves providing safe, consistent, and person-centred support to an NDIS participant with high psychosocial needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong de-escalation skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to support participants who may present with fluctuating moods, altered mental states, or challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide psychosocial and practical support in alignment with the participant's Support Plan.
* Support the participant in daily routines while maintaining safety and professional boundaries.
* Implement crisis-prevention and de-escalation strategies as required.
* Document all interactions, behaviours, and incidents accurately and promptly.
* Follow all safety, risk, and safeguarding procedures.
* Work collaboratively with family, coordinators, and allied health professionals.
The role will involve assisting the participant in community access and attending to personal care.
