Job Overview
The Telecommunications Cable Jointer role involves installing, maintaining and repairing fibre and copper networks across various projects.
* In this position, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, plans and specifications to ensure accurate installations of pit & pipe, conduit and fibre network infrastructure.
* You will install, terminate and seal fibre optic and copper telecommunications cables using approved techniques and adhere to industry standards and company protocols.
* Troubleshoot faults in cable networks, locate the source of the issue, and adjust or replace faulty components as needed.
* Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian industry standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with project supervisors, trenching crews and other teams to coordinate cable jointing activities, infrastructure handovers and network upgrades.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Technical drawing interpretation skills to accurately understand plans and specifications.
* Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required by the job.
* Knowledge of fibre and copper network installation and maintenance practices.
* Familiarity with Australian industry standards and regulations.
