About the role
We are seeking an experienced and service‐driven Laundry Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel laundry service department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high‐quality laundry service delivery across guest rooms, Food & Beverage operations, culinary departments, associate uniforms, guest laundry, and dry‐cleaning services.
The successful candidate will lead laundry service operations, supervise service associates, maintain service standards, and drive operational efficiency while delivering outstanding guest service and employee service support.
This position plays a key role in maintaining exceptional hotel service standards, ensuring productivity, safety, and service excellence at all times.
Critical responsibilities
Equipment & Maintenance
Manage laundry equipment performance and preventative maintenance schedules with engineering.
Support future planning including equipment upgrades and operational service improvements.
Managing & Supervising Department Operations and Budgets
* Supervise day‐to‐day hotel service operations while ensuring quality service standards are consistently achieved.
* Supervising and managing employees. Managing all day‐to‐day operations. Understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
* Communicating the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety.
* Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department.
* Ensures consistent workflow to minimize peaks and valleys in production.
* Brings issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.
* Supervises daily Laundry service operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards and procedures.
* Ordering and managing necessary supplies. Ensuring workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
* Orders cleaning supplies and uniforms within budget.
* Understands the impact of department's service operations on the overall hotel financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
* Works effectively with the Engineering department on Laundry equipment maintenance needs.
* Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
* Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunctions.
* Develops, maintains and uses effective back‐up plans for breakdowns.
* Ensuring and maintaining the productivity level of employees.
* Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
Coach, mentor, and develop associates to improve service performance and operational knowledge.
Encourage a positive, service‐oriented culture focused on teamwork and accountability.
Maintain productivity, morale, and service engagement across all shifts.
Providing and Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
* Deliver exceptional guest service by ensuring all laundry services exceed guest expectations.
* Improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
* Support continuous service improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and service efficiency.
* Empower associates to provide proactive and professional customer service.
Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
* Ensuring employee success and event success recognitions are taking place in all shifts.
* Identifying the developmental needs of others and supervising, coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.
* Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in the organization.
* Supervises staffing levels to ensure that operational service needs and financial objectives are met.
* Effectively schedule associates according to operational service demands.
* Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards.
* Manages employee progressive discipline procedures.
* Manages the employee performance appraisal process.
* Ensures hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
Successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in a Laundry Service Manager, Hotel Service Supervisor or similar leadership role, ideally within a hotel or high‐volume commercial laundry.
Strong understanding of laundry operations, equipment, and textile care.
Demonstrated ability to lead service teams and drive performance outcomes.
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and productivity metrics.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to luxury service standards.
A proactive and hands‐on leadership approach focused on operational service excellence.
