Our client is a well-respected name in the industrial engineering sector, specialising in the repair, refurbishment, and servicing of pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment. With a strong commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence, they are now looking to appoint an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to lead their growing team.
This full-time position is based in Yatala, QLD, and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
The Role:
As Workshop Manager, you'll oversee all daily workshop operations from technical execution to team leadership and client liaison. Your expertise will ensure high-quality service delivery and efficient workshop performance in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage workshop activities including repair, assembly, and testing of pumps, gearboxes, and related equipment.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fitters and technicians.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in rotating equipment.
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.
Liaise with clients to provide updates, technical support, and progress reports.
Coordinate scheduling, resource planning, and workflow management.
Maintain workshop tools, inventory, and ensure proper equipment upkeep.
Monitor job costing, productivity, and prepare performance reports.
About You:
Demonstrated experience in a workshop leadership role within rotating equipment, pumps, or gearbox servicing.
Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in repairs and diagnostics.
Strong team management, scheduling, and planning abilities.
Competent in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance practices.
