The Aboriginal Cultural Capability Team Leader provides strategic and operational leadership to build an organisation wide culture that is respectful, inclusive, and responsive to Aboriginal people.

The role is central to driving sustainable cultural change by influencing organisational practices, strengthening governance, and embedding cultural safety and inclusion across all levels of the organisation through strong internal and external partnerships.

Leading a specialist team, the position oversees the design, delivery, and evaluation of high impact cultural capability initiatives, including the facilitation of Respecting the Difference training. Working closely with executives, managers, Aboriginal staff, and community stakeholders, the role provides culturally informed advice, bespoke training, and strategic guidance. Grounded in a deep understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts on Aboriginal people—particularly in accessing health services—the Team Leader supports culturally safe workforce and service delivery practices that ensure Aboriginal staff and communities feel respected, valued, and supported.

From Helensburgh in the north to North Durras in the south, ISLHD covers an area of 5,687 square kms.
