The role of Support Assistant - Student Care is a critical position in our school community, providing direct support to students with diverse needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* To work collaboratively with the Learning Support Teacher (LST) to provide consistent and targeted support strategies.
* To develop strong relationships with students, promoting dignity, respect, and positive interactions.
* To adapt support approaches across various contexts, including academic, social, and self-care settings.
* To engage in ongoing professional development, embracing training in key programs and strategies.
* To provide reliable support for the LST, enabling effective use of planning and release time.
* To maintain confidentiality and uphold student dignity at all times.
* To understand and apply communication supports, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visuals, and expressive/receptive language strategies.
