About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented financial expert to join our team. This is the perfect role for someone with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for accuracy in financial reporting. You’ll play a key role in supporting audits, streamlining financial processes, and working across teams to maintain Cubes.Co's financial health.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Responsible for the Month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing insights.
- Ensure that the business complies with tax and accounting standards and regulations.
- Contribute to preparing and submitting tax returns, regulatory filings, and insurance documents.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in financial reporting and systems.
- Collaborate with operations and sales teams to support the delinquency process and manage cash flow.
- Take responsibility for preparing ad hoc analysis for the business, as it requires
- Responsible for the delivery of payroll for the business
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, oversee and operate the daily functions of the finance department, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, cash forecasting, and revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, forecasts, weekly and monthly dashboards and variance analysis to the Executive Team
- Develop budgets and forecasts for the company
- Implement financial strategies in line with company objectives
- Attend and present at monthly board meetings
- BAS and IAS preparation
- Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
- Statutory reporting sign-off (BAS, STP, Workcover, Payroll Tax, Super, tax)
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in financial accounting or a related role, preferably in a B2B environment
- Postgraduate and professional membership in either the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or CPA Australia (CPA) qualified accountant
- 4+ years of experience in a similar position
- Comfort with dealing with non-financial stakeholders, and enabling other teams to understand and hit their financial objectives
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficient user of finance software (Xero experience is advantageous) and has advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work autonomously in a self-sufficient manner
