Join to apply for the Senior Heritage Compliance Adviser role at City of Gold CoastThis is an exciting opportunity to bring your passion, expertise, and experience in heritage to ensure the City’s land use activities do not harm cultural heritage. You will conduct heritage risk assessments, contribute to risk management processes, manage heritage work programs, and engage with consultants, including Aboriginal parties and their technical advisors.About The TeamThis position is within the heritage compliance work stream in the Heritage and First Nations team, part of the Sustainability, Heritage and Compliance Branch in the Department of Environment, Heritage and Resilience.About Your RoleAs Senior Heritage Compliance Advisor, you will provide specialist advice to ensure City projects comply with statutory obligations and stakeholder expectations, involving diverse projects and managing the City's cultural heritage risk management services.ResponsibilitiesServe as cultural heritage advisor on project teams, providing risk assessments and management services during project phases.Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including consultants and Aboriginal parties.Advise stakeholders on legislation and procedures for cultural heritage management.Develop and implement systems to improve heritage management performance.Deliver training to relevant stakeholders on heritage management requirements.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor degree in archaeology, cultural heritage management, anthropology, or related field.At least 2 years of relevant experience in cultural heritage management.Technical archaeological skills, experience with Aboriginal heritage assessments, and survey work.Knowledge of Queensland heritage legislation and compliance practices.Experience with infrastructure project delivery and technical reporting.Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and in teams, fostering stakeholder relationships.Current Class C unrestricted driver’s license.BenefitsFlexible work arrangements, including hybrid options.Professional development opportunities.Access to fitness facilities via Fitness Passport.Confidential counselling services.Nutritionist and financial advice sessions.Application ProcessView the position brief via the paperclip icon.
