We are looking for a commercially astute, influential leader who thrives in demanding, entrepreneurial environments and knows how to drive behavioural change across large, geographically dispersed retail operations.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will design and embed our national retail-focused EVP model as a disciplined operating system across Retail, Distribution & Logistics and Support functions.
Your focus is simple but powerful:
Drive EVP as a growth and performance engine. Not engagement theatre.
This role sits at the intersection of leadership, performance, culture and capability. You will partner directly with the National Executive, Regional and Zone leaders to influence outcomes, shift mindsets and deliver measurable commercial impact.
What You’ll Be Accountable For
You will:
* Design and own our national EVP and employee experience strategy aligned to business growth
* Embed leadership accountability for retention, performance and culture
* Quantify attrition risk, cost and ROI across sites and leaders
* Build leadership capability to improve engagement and stability
* Establish governance, reporting and data-driven decision making
* Embed EVP drivers into induction, leadership development and performance frameworks
* Strengthen career pathways and internal mobility
* Implement listening strategies and translate insight into action
* Drive measurable improvement in voluntary turnover, early tenure attrition and leadership effectiveness
* This is outcome-driven. Not activity-driven.
About You
You are commercially minded, resilient and highly credible with senior operational leaders.
You bring:
* 7+ years in HR, workforce or capability transformation
* Experience in retail, logistics or multi-site environments
* Strong leadership influence capability
* Proven culture and behavioural change delivery at scale
* Workforce analytics and commercial acumen
* Pragmatic, execution-focused mindset
* High ownership and resilience
* Experience in entrepreneurial or high-growth businesses
Bonus if you have:
* Big box or discount retail exposure
* Workforce systems experience such as Employment Hero, UKG or Kronos
* Experience building leadership performance frameworks
