Since 2013, Stella's Pantry has been a leading European-style delicatessen, food store and café in the Gippsland area, We may be small in size, but we are big on quality produce, particularly our cheeses and charcuterie offerings. Our newly created position of Assistant Manager is a permanent full-time role, and works across our business hours, sharing Saturday shifts with the General Manager.
The role
It's an exciting time to join the Stella's team, with our growth now needing the skills and leadership of an Assistant Manager. Reporting to the Business Owner/General Manager, you will be their right-hand person, and play a key role in the daily operations, specifically of our Café and Food Store.
Our café is small in size, but big in heart. We are proud of the coffees we serve, and our tight menu features our signature deli-style sandwiches. We offer both dine-in and take-away for our customers, and warm, friendly service is why people continue to dine with us.
Our food store is special to the area, with shelves full of both local and international products. We aim to inspire and excite the cooks of Gippsland, with our range of high quality, unique grocery items. We also offer a gifting service, with our products perfect for gift boxes.
This is a hands-on role, and full of variety. You'll take ownership of the service standards, team performance and customer satisfaction across the café and food store operations, in line with the Stella's Pantry values. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the owner to bring food ideas to life, and constantly seek opportunities to introduce new products to the range. The role is responsible for managing a small FOH team, and allows you to use your mentoring and leadership skills to enhance operational excellence. The role will also cover the Business Owner/GM when they take annual leave.
Your day-to-day
* Responsible for the performance and daily operations of our café and food store, including day-to-day service, stock ordering, stock management, and visual merchandising.
* Management of a small FOH team, including rostering, mentoring, training and performance management.
* Lead and manage store promotions and activations, including promotional activities, team training and communications, and promotion review activities.
* Serving our customers at our deli, including meat slicing, cheese cutting, weighing and wrapping produce (training provided)
* Updating our social media channels with posts, stories, and engagement across the platforms
* Assisting our kitchen team as needed – this includes dishes, and general cleaning tasks
* Opening and closing the store when required, with roster across a span of opening hours being 8.00am – 5.30pm, and Saturdays between 8.00am – 1.30pm. This includes supporting cash handling procedures, and store security.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
