Transport Manager - Quarry Transport Division
ASQ Assets is seeking a dedicated, motivated, and experienced Transport Manager to lead our quarry transport division. This role is an important part of the leadership team working alongside Quarry, Sales, Maintenance, and Garden & Landscape divisions.
* Permanent Full-time; 38 hours per week

ASQ is a locally owned, family-operated business, servicing Central Victoria since 1970. The business includes three divisions: ASQ Allstone Quarries, ASQ Premix Concrete, and ASQ Garden & Landscape. We provide products, expertise, and solutions for a wide range of projects, both locally and throughout Victoria. Our quarry supplies quality crushed rock and aggregate materials to Bendigo and surrounding districts, with large stockpiles and a fast, safe turnaround.
ASQ Assets offers fleet and maintenance services to ensure our trucks, vehicles, and heavy equipment are maintained and operate safely and efficiently.
About the Role:
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing maintenance, scheduling, and operation of the quarry transport fleet, ensuring vehicles are efficient and safe
* Ensuring compliance with industry regulations
* Managing truck and driver allocation, scheduling routes, and overseeing subcontractors
* Planning daily delivery schedules for timely deliveries and pickups
* Leading a team of transport drivers and weighbridge operators, conducting performance reviews, and providing training
* Acting as primary contact for suppliers and maintaining stakeholder relationships
* Overseeing safety protocols, fatigue management, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with WHS and environmental standards
* Maintaining accurate fleet operation records and submitting reports to senior leadership
* Managing weighbridge operations, including audits and ensuring smooth operations during absences
Key Selection Criteria:
* 3+ years experience in managing transport, fleet, or similar roles
* 3+ years leadership experience in a related industry
* Experience in developing and managing budgets
* Experience with weighbridge systems (desirable)
* Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Knowledge of OHS and environmental regulations
* Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required
