Associate Nurse Unit Manager
We are seeking applications for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our Surgical & Midwifery Ward on a permanent full-time basis.
Our Ward comprises 21 beds across a mix of Maternity and Gynaecological cases. We experience approximately 500 births a year and are equipped with 3 birth suites and a Special Care Nursery that cares for premature and unwell infants to 32 weeks' gestation.
The Position
* In the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager, the ANUM assumes responsibilities for the utilisation of personnel and management of the unit in collaboration with Coordinator.
* Assists and facilitates the effective communication of the unit.
* Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collecting audits, statistics, staff performance management and productivity analysis data.
* Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity. Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or Coordinator according to changes in levels.
* Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in identifying resource needs and developing budgets and operational plans.
* Discusses any concerns regarding patients and staff with Nursing Unit Manager/Coordinator.
* Provides leadership and direction to the team in the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager and acts as a role model and resource person.
* Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
* Demonstrates knowledge of and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
You will have a registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing.

We can offer you
* Salary: $115,908 to $119,811 plus 12% superannuation.
* Permanent full-time position, working 38 hours a week.
