Key to strengthening communities is reliable, ethical and sustainable service delivery. Our client seeks an experienced Payroll Compliance Officer to join their Corporate Services team based in Cairns on a Temp to Permanent basis.
This pivotal role oversees payroll compliance, systems and governance across diverse operations throughout Cape York, the Gulf of Carpentaria, North Queensland and the Torres Strait Islands. Ensuring efficient, accurate and compliant payroll systems are key to this role.
Working closely with People and Workplace Culture, Payroll and Finance teams, you will mentor and support the Payroll Manager while contributing to strategic process improvement initiatives that enhance our clients reputation as an employer of choice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Extensive knowledge of multiple awards;
* Proven experience managing payroll compliance within medium-to-large organisations;
* Strong understanding of NES, tax and superannuation legislation;
* Experience conducting payroll audits, risk assessments and remediation processes;
* Advanced skills in payroll software and time and attendance systems;
* Strong analytical and reporting skills using tools such as Power BI;
You will bring strong communication, leadership and mentoring abilities. Relevant qualifications or previous experience in the retail or public sector are highly desirable.
