About the role:
The Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB) Program provides a specialist, trauma-safe, and culturally-safe response to children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours. The service offers healing, support, counselling, and therapeutic interventions, working holistically with all those involved with the child or young person.
The program helps children, young people, and adults recover from trauma's harmful impacts and supports families and communities in the healing process.
The Clinical Social Worker or Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist will provide clinical consultation and supervision to the Counsellor and Aboriginal Outreach Support Worker within the Specialist HSB Program.
This is a Fixed Term Full-time position (38 hours per week) until 10.12.2026, based in Port Hedland, WA, within our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Program, Pilbara WA. The position reports to the Principal Practitioner WA/NT.
Key Selection Criteria:
To succeed in this role, you will have:

A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, values, and current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
An appropriate qualification and experience in Psychology/Social Work with a clinical focus.
Clinical experience working with children and families in therapeutic settings.
Knowledge of and experience working with children and young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours.
Group work experience with children and/or adults.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid by MacKillop);
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
