JOB PURPOSE

The Inventory Controller ensures the accurate management of stock levels to support operational efficiency and cost control. This role is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory availability, preventing excess or obsolete stock, and implementing effective processes for monitoring, auditing, and improving inventory performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Monitoring

- Regularly monitor inventory levels to ensure they meet demand.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock movements and update records.
- Identify SLOBs (Slow Moving and Obsolete Stock) and take appropriate actions.

Order Management

- Determine optimal reorder points and quantities to maintain stock levels using staging lanes.
- Manage relationships with 3PLs to ensure timely deliveries.

Auditing and Accuracy

- Conduct regular physical cycle counts to reconcile with system records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records with Finance.
- Implement measures to improve inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
- Ensure batch details and expiry dates are correct in the Mix Room.
- Implement measures to improve the Eski flow of materials.

Reporting

- Generate and analyse inventory reports to provide insights into stock levels, trends, and potential issues.
- Communicate expired and blocked stock issues to stakeholders.

Process Improvement

- Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes.
- Set up RF scanning in all areas including pull/reservation lists.
- Train staff in inventory-related SAP T‑codes.

Collaboration

- Work closely with other departments such as logistics, planning, and production to ensure a seamless flow of goods.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to address inventory-related issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role. Familiarity with inventory management software and systems (e.g., SAP). Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and auditing practices. Understanding of supply chain operations and collaboration with 3PLs. Ability to interpret and analyse inventory reports and data trends.

Personal Attributes & Skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments. High attention to detail and accuracy in managing stock records and batch information. Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment while meeting deadlines. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement. Competence in training staff on inventory‑related systems and procedures.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As publicly announced, Unilever will separate its Ice Cream business which is expected by the end of 2025. This role will transfer to the recent Ice Cream company.
