Our valued client, Bantu Recruitment Agency, is currently recruiting a qualified Boilermaker for a full-time role. The company is an African-Australian-owned recruitment firm with established links to Indigenous labour hire networks. With an international outlook, the agency focuses on identifying and placing skilled professionals across industries including mining, healthcare, hospitality, and education.
In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for operating and maintaining stationary engines, boilers, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, along with associated mechanical equipment. The annual salary for this position is $80,000 to $150,000. Responsibilities include:
* Analysing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ascertain project requirements.
* Preparing metal stock by selecting, cleaning, and treating it accordingly.
* Utilising hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal cutting machines to cut marked-out metal sections and shapes.
* Utilising hand and machine tools, as well as heating and hammering techniques, to shape and bend metal sections and pipes.
* Ensuring precise alignment of parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
* Joining metal sections through various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting methods.
* Inspecting welds for bead width, penetration depth, and overall precision.
* Finalising product finishing processes through cleaning, polishing, filing, and immersion in acidic solutions.

* Refining welds by employing filing, chesiling, and grinding techniques to achieve smooth surfaces.
* Performing routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are upheld.
* Conducting pressure tests on boilers, tanks, and other vessels to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance.
Qualifications:
* Must have more than five (5) years of experience in a similar setting.
* Must possess a relevant Australian Trade Certificate.
