Production Assets Maintenance Manager – Area
BAE Systems Australia invites applications for aProduction Assets Maintenance Manager – Areabased in our Flinders Street Office in Adelaide.
This pivotal leadership role focuses on the operational planning and execution of maintenance activities across a defined section of the shipyard, driving reliable, safe and cost-effective performance of critical shipyard infrastructure and assets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day maintenance operations across a designated shipyard area, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
Plan, coordinate and deliver both planned and reactive maintenance using the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
Supervise maintenance supervisors, ensuring high technical quality, cost control and compliance with HSE standards.
Manage internal and external maintenance teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Monitor and drive asset performance metrics including uptime, backlog and response time.
Investigate root causes of failures and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Facilities and Support Services.
Manage maintenance budgets (up to $20M+) and contribute to site-wide operating expenditure ($******M+).
Represent Maintenance at daily production and safety meetings and maintain strong communication across all stakeholders.
Qualifications
Significant experience in industrial maintenance or engineering, ideally within shipbuilding, defence, mining or heavy industry.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience supervising trades and coordinating maintenance delivery across multiple shifts.
Proficiency with maintenance planning systems.
A trade qualification or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering (required).
Leadership or supervisory training (desirable).
White Card and High-Risk Work Licence (e.g., EWP, Crane) preferred.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
