Looking for an experienced manager for Friday, Saturday and Sunday management shifts.
Position Overview:
Become a part of the Event Cinemas Toowoomba team at our two locations - The Strand & Grand Central.
About the role
- Oversee daily operations, uphold operational standards, and pursue best practice.

- Track and achieve budgeted sales and other key performance indicators while managing expenses.
- Actively work across all aspects of the business as part of the wider team (Candybar, Floor Ushering & Duty Management).
- Proactively grow and maintain strong networks with all stakeholders including customers, team members, contractors, landlords & the broader EVT network.
Position Overview (additional responsibilities):
- Supervises the work of employees at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Assists with training levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
- Responsible on a shift-by-shift basis for the projection area including monitoring on-screen presentation and addressing issues using appropriate technical support.
- Responsible on a shift-by-shift basis for the operation of the cinema location, including adherence to all operating procedures and company policies & procedures.
- Maintain a consistently elevated level of customer service across all departments, ensuring an exceptional experience for patrons.
- Maintain awareness of WHS procedures, undertaking safe work practices and reporting incidents per policy.
- Support business revenue streams in all cinema departments.
- Understand and apply quality control techniques across all cinema location departments, including food preparation to ensure hygiene and recipe adherence.
- May be operationally responsible for food preparation departments.
- Administer cinema location tasks as required, with understanding of reporting processes and ability to complete administrative tasks; monitor location-specific email communications on a shift-by-shift basis.
- Demonstrate stock control understanding, may undertake stock ordering and manage receiving processes.
- Maintain knowledge of campaigns and events in each department and manage preparation within set time limits.
- Uphold staff productivity during shifts and address training concerns with the Location Trainer/Assistant Manager or General Manager; may conduct training of levels 1–4.
- Exercise discretion within scope, work with limited supervision.

Cinema Worker Level 5 Key Accountabilities
In addition to Level 1–4 accountabilities, Level 5 includes:
- Operational responsibility for a cinema complex, including customer service standards, administration, safety, reporting, and payroll considerations.
- Stock control, cash handling, rostering support, and adapting to campaigns, events, and new technology.
- Leadership and team management, including training, campaign execution, and performance coaching.
- Compliance with WHS, food hygiene, and safety protocols; maintain required certificates (e.g., Senior First Aid, RSA where applicable).
- Technical responsibilities such as AV setup, content ingestion, and equipment operation as trained.
- Overall Leadership and Team Management
- Recognise strengths and development needs of team members and escalate concerns to supervisors as needed.
- Oversee training and supervision of Levels 1–4.
- Communicate campaigns and events effectively to cinema teams.
- Revenue and Financial Responsibility for Cinema
- Cash control, stock/revenue management, payroll considerations, and reporting for HQ.
- Customer Service
- Address customer feedback and maintain elevated service levels across departments.
- Sales & Promotional Opportunities
- Understand campaign briefs, manage promotional activities, and ensure displays meet standards.
Skills & Experience
- Current Cinema Worker Level 4 with supervisory experience
- Retail, Food and Beverage, Cash Handling experience
- First Aid Certificate
- RSA
