Join the City of Wagga Wagga as a Casual Tennis Coach. Our facilities are expanding, and we are looking for self-motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic Tennis Coaching professionals to join our team. You will play an essential role in delivering high-quality tennis activities to our community.
Remuneration of $36.61 gross per hour + superannuation. Positions are casual and on an as-needs basis. Applications will be retained on file to fill vacancies within our casual pool as they arise.
Please note: Rates of pay for all Council employees aged between 15-18 years of age are paid in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, Clause 32. Junior and Trainee Employment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and high-quality tennis coaching sessions for juniors and adults.
Assist with the delivery of Tennis Australia programs (e.g., Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis).
Liaise with Tennis Team leader on all issues relating to Coaching Sessions / Tennis Programs.
Encourage player development, technique improvement, and enjoyment of the game.
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning workplace.
Liaise with parents, players, and staff to ensure clear communication and quality service.
Support tennis centre events, competitions, and holiday clinics as required.
Ensure the quality of coaching is of a consistently high standard.
Participate in regular in-house training sessions and staff meetings.
Maintain currency of qualifications relevant to the position.
Complete other reasonable duties or tasks as required with consultation from the Wagga Leisure Tennis Team Leader.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Tennis Australia Coach Membership (Junior Development or Club Professional level, or equivalent accreditation).
Class C Drivers Licence.
Current CPR Certificate or proof of enrolment in course.
Current First Aid Certificate or proof of enrolment in course.
National Police Check Clearance.
NSW Working With Children Check Clearance.
Skills And Experience
Experience relevant to the role including the delivery of programs.
Solid communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills including highly developed customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Demonstrated understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health & Safety requirements relevant to the role including risk assessment of activities and tasks.
Ability to work weekends and spread of hours in accordance with rostering / programming arrangements.
This position is subject to NSW Child Protection Legislation. As part of the application and interview process, candidates must provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC) number for verification purposes.
