Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Officer to join our team in Princess Alexandra Hospital.
* This role plays a central part in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers.
About the Role:
* You will be responsible for contact and recruitment of eligible First Nations participants and caregivers, following approved protocols and informed consent processes.
* Conduct phone-based data collection and maintain high standards of data accuracy and integrity.
* Manage documentation, scheduling and participant remuneration with strong attention to detail.
* Support the maintenance and improvement of tracking and data systems.
Key Responsibilities

About You:
* You're an organised, empathetic and motivated professional who can build trust with participants and work confidently across research, health and community settings.
* You bring strong communication skills, cultural capability and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
The Ideal Candidate
* Must be indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
* Meet the requirements set out in section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).

About Us
We are a new study led by The University of Queensland in partnership with Cancer Alliance Queensland. This role is based within the Metro South Hospital and Health Service, Queensland Health.
The aim of the study is to establish a prospective and perpetual population-based cohort of First Nations Peoples diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers, from diagnosis and throughout survivorship.
