About the Role
The General Practitioner provides high-quality clinical care to women at Tarrengower Women's Prison Primary Health Care Service. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to meet the complex medical, psychiatric, social, and cultural needs of the patient cohort.
Working within Dhelkaya Health's Best Care framework, the General Practitioner contributes to the development of models of care, research opportunities, and collaborative learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive primary care to women and their children.
* Collaborate with Specialists, Nursing, and Allied Health professionals.
* Ensure seamless care from prison reception to community reintegration.
Requirements:
* Australian medical registration.
* Relevant clinical experience and competence.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective organisational skills, including time management and delegation.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience providing medical services in a custodial setting.
* Women's health experience.
* Culturally safe and appropriate care for Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
