Overview
Talent Pool for Senior Assistant Superintendent – Security Operations Group – NSW Statewide. This talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary vacancies and is valid for up to 18 months.
Role
The Senior Assistant Superintendent role provides a high standard of security and assistance to Governors and Officers-in-Charge of correctional centres to help maintain good order, discipline, safety and security of centres in accordance with relevant legislation and CSNSW policies, procedures and standards. You will manage the efficient and effective, safe and secure operations and provision of services within the area of training, operations and response capabilities for Security Operations Group State-wide to ensure delivery of quality. You will manage a functional area within the Security Operations Group (Training, Operations, Projects, State armoury and providing necessary support to Immediate Actions Teams (IAT)). You will provide accurate, timely and appropriate advice and reports to senior management on all operational security matters in the area of responsibility. You will coordinate strategic security operations and/or training within correctional centres to ensure effective ongoing delivery and maintenance of security needs to Governors.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will provide professional and administrative work on a daily basis. You will evaluate and verify operational orders for large-scale search operations which may include other agencies such as NSW Police and Youth Justice. You will provide advice and support to correctional centres in developing and evaluating scenario-based training to test security response capabilities and ensure dynamic and static security meet the required guidelines. You will use your managerial experience to meet the demands of the role efficiently and effectively. You understand the diverse correctional environment and working with people in custody. As a proactive leader, you will contribute to a high-performing team focused on developing an improved workplace culture.
Essential Requirements
* Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or equivalent and relevant custodial experience at a senior level.
* Driver's Licence with ability and willingness to drive throughout NSW.
* Successful applicants may be offered a role at any Security Operations Group, Security and Custody location throughout NSW, which may involve relocation and/or travel at the applicant's expense.
* Ability to meet the Key Accountabilities and Focus Capabilities, which can be located in the role description.
