FIFO roster: 1 week in Cooma (Mon–Fri) / 1 week working from home
International collaboration with project teams in Germany and Canada
THE ROLE
We are seeking an experiencedSenior Project Controls Engineer – Change Controlto join the Commercial Team within an integrated Project Controls function operating across Australia and Germany.
Reporting to the Project Controlling Lead, with a functional reporting line to the
Head of Controlling in Germany, this role plays a critical part in delivering strong financial insight, governance and change management on a technically complex hydropower project.
You will lead cost estimating, trend analysis, forecasting and change control activities, ensuring all project changes are effectively identified, assessed, integrated and communicated.
This is a senior, non-routine role requiring strong analytical capability, stakeholder engagement skills and experience on large-scale infrastructure projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Quarterly Project Forecast across multidisciplinary teams in Australia and Germany
• Drive the development and assessment of cost trends, including detailed estimating and impact analysis
• Lead and coordinate change management processes, ensuring integration with cost, risk, forecasting, trends and claims
• Develop, interpret and implement policies, objectives and standards relating to change control
• Coordinate cost monitoring and control systems, standards, techniques and reporting
• Prepare, review and present change management reports and presentations to client and executive stakeholders
• Perform complex, non-routine cost estimating, forecasting and control activities
• Prepare and manage budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
• Identify cost trends and provide insights for management attention
• Conduct cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis and cost/quantity comparisons
• Support training and capability development for project personnel in change management processes
• Ensure consistency and alignment across project controls reports and forecasts
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with8–10 years' relevant experience, or***** years' industry experience
• Proven experience in Project Controls, Cost Engineering or Commercial roles on$1B+ infrastructure or energy projects
• Strong background inchange control, cost estimating, forecasting and trend management
• Experience working withinAlliance-style or collaborative contract models
• Advanced skills inContruent (Prism), SAP, Excel, Word and Power BI
• Strong understanding of financial reporting systems, cost codes and controller instructions
• Demonstrated ability to analyse designs and specifications for cost effectiveness
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior stakeholders
• Comfortable working across multiple time zones with international teams
• Willingness to travel regularly to Cooma and internationally to Germany as required

Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme.
Once complete, it will deliver2,000 MW of dispatchable renewable powerand approximately350,000 MWh of large-scale energy storage, playing a critical role in Australia's clean energy transition.
It is one of the largest hydropower projects in the world and the largest currently under construction in Australia.
