We've partnered with a truly unique, community-driven organisation on an international search for their next GM - Retail. Based in Darwin, this NFP operates grocery and retail stores across remote NT and QLD. With their long-standing GM moving away from the business, they're looking for a fresh, passionate senior leader to drive their next chapter.
About the Role
As General Manager – Retail, you’ll report directly to the CEO and lead a high-performing team across retail operations, merchandising, nutrition, business support, and more. You’ll drive strategy, optimise performance, and inspire teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and sustainable business growth.

The Package
* $220k - $250k AUD base salary + NFP tax concessions
* Relocation package up to $30k
* 6 weeks Annual Leave + 17.5% leave loading

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute long-term strategies that grow market share and improve customer outcomes.
* Oversee multi-site operations of 25+ stores, driving operational efficiency and service excellence.
* Lead, mentor and develop a large and diverse team of senior managers.
* Own and manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
* Leverage data, insights, and industry trends to inform decision-making.
* Foster a customer-centric culture aligned with evolving consumer needs and community values.
About You
We’re seeking a commercially focused, people-first leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You’ll bring:
* Senior leadership experience running multi-site metro and regional grocery/supermarket operations is essential
* Strong expertise in operations, merchandising, inventory, and team development
* Proven ability to lead transformation and deliver financial results
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience using ERP systems (D365 or similar), and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
* High-level critical thinking and agility in responding to market change
Other Requirements
* The role is based in Darwin, NT - Support Office and will require a permanent move
* Regular travel to remote communities is required (via road or light aircraft)
