About the role
Weâre on a transformation journey to modernise our technology landscape and simplify how we deliver digital experiences â and weâre looking for a Cloud Engineer to help bring it to life.
This is a hands-on engineering role where youâll design, build and optimise Azure-based environments using infrastructure as code, while supporting both project delivery and BAU platform stability.
Youâll be part of a high-impact program focused on integrating services into a modern cloud ecosystem, improving scalability, resilience and speed to market across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
* Design, deploy and manage highly available, fault-tolerant systems on Microsoft Azure
* Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability and security
* Implement and maintain core Azure services (APIM, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Web Apps, Function Apps, Logic Apps, VMs, SQL Databases, Entra ID/Active Directory and related services)
* Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform (including Terragrunt), ARM or Bicep
* Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions
* Embed automation and scripting using tools such as PowerShell
* Troubleshoot complex technical issues across cloud environments and provide deep technical resolution
* Support incident response activities, ensuring timely fault resolution and root cause analysis
* Work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions
What weâre looking for
* Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer (circa 3+ years) or similar
* Strong knowledge of Azure services and cloud architecture principles
* Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt highly regarded)
* Scripting capability in PowerShell, Python or similar
* Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Enterprise / GitHub Actions preferred)
* Exposure to Agile delivery environments
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot end-to-end
Nice to have:
* Experience in enterprise environments and IT service frameworks (ITIL, COBIT)
* Familiarity with complex platform integration or transformation programs
