As a team member, you will contribute to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.We are seeking a driven Mine Geologist to join our geology team at Mt Weld.
This is a permanent role based at Mt Weld Operations with a family-friendly FIFO roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, fly in fly out from Perth.RoleIn this role, you will provide technical support to our operations.
As a valued member of the Lynas Mt Weld team, your responsibilities include:Supporting the geology and mining departments' HSE objectives.Managing day-to-day grade control activities through geological mapping, ore mark-ups, and monitoring ore quality via ore spotting and stockpile management.Assisting with assay analysis (using IoGas), ore block designs, drill designs, EOM reconciliation, and other projects.Supporting exploration efforts to discover, expand, and further define the Mt Weld ore body through drilling, including geological logging of RC and diamond drill holes.Qualities We ValueA motivated individual with a can-do attitude.A team player—teamwork makes the dream work!Passion for geology and curiosity to unlock Mt Weld's geological secrets.Commitment to an inclusive workplace where all feel valued, belong, and respected.Skills RequiredExperience with software packages including Surpac and MS Office tools.Familiarity with AcQuire database.Understanding of grade control processes and QAQC standards.Knowledge of RC and Diamond drilling practices.Awareness of safety, environmental management, and best practices.High enthusiasm and commitment to achieving high performance goals.We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, the LGBTIQA+ community, mature workers, and candidates from culturally diverse backgrounds.
