Manager Fleet Operations, Clerk Grade 9/10, Wollongong

* Lead and oversee the management of the fleet team of the NSW SES
* Support over 2300 operational assets including vessels, vehicles and trailers
* Full time ongoing role
* Based in State Headquarters in Wollongong, NSW

About the opportunity

The Manager, Fleet Operations is responsible for overseeing NSW SES fleet assets, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, guidelines, and operational requirements. This role leads a small, centralised team to deliver effective fleet management across NSW. The fleet is dispersed statewide and maintained by custodians, including both staff and volunteers, requiring strong coordination, foresight and leadership to ensure operational readiness and reliability

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

* Have strong asset management knowledge, understanding of the fleet lifecycle and relevant experience which can be applied to fleet management, analysis and governance
* Be able to lead staff and volunteers in a Statewide agency with multiple priorities and pressures including legislative and operational requirements
* Expertise in financial analysis and management of large budgets
* Experience and capability to interpret and implement legislative and regulatory considerations relating to fleet and Heavy Vehicles (NHVR)
* Be proficient in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, internal and external within other NSW emergency services & across Australia including industry
* Ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure operational readiness, transporting of assets and decommissioning of assets is undertaken efficiently, safely and effectively
* Understanding of Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) implications
* Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
