Design & Build are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter / Supervisor to join a growing custom residential builder with projects across the inner eastern and western suburbs.
Our client is an emerging builder delivering bespoke new homes, renovations, and extensions valued up to $1.5m.
With a strong pipeline of ongoing and upcoming projects, they're looking to bring a motivated and capable Leading Hand on board to support continued growth.
This role would suit a skilled carpenter who enjoys being hands-on while taking on greater responsibility, working closely with the Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Acting as a second-in-charge within the business, this is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up and grow with the business.
Responsibilities
Assisting in leading and coordinating teams across multiple sites
Planning daily and weekly schedules, allocating work, and tracking progress
Ordering and coordinating materials, tools, and equipment
Ensuring site safety, compliance, and presentation standards are maintained
Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
Representing the business professionally with clients, consultants, and trades
Working on the tools as required to support your team and keep projects on track
Ideal Candidate
Experience delivering high-end or custom residential projects
Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate teams
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, premium finishes, and site logistics
Confidence reading and interpreting plans and drawings, with attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative
The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and control
