Vac Truck Operator / Drain Cleaner Operator

About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Hydro Vac and Drain Cleaning Operators or motivated individuals with a HR licence to join our dynamic and growing team.
In this role, you will operate vehicles and equipment efficiently, deliver exceptional customer service, and maintain strong relationships with our clients and their site representatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operate vacuum trucks and equipment for industrial services, including non-destructive digging/potholing and service detection.
Operate jet rodding and drain-cleaning equipment to clear and maintain sewer and stormwater assets.
Perform daily pre-start checks and ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained to meet safety and operational standards.
Onsite duties will involve Hydro Vac operations, drain cleaning operations, tipper operations, backfilling, saw cutting, reinstatement and assisting within the CCTV division.
Physically demanding tasks, including manoeuvring and positioning heavy hoses, lifting, pulling, and working in diverse outdoor environments and weather conditions.
Manage waste disposal in line with environmental protection authority and company guidelines.
Communicate effectively with management, team members and clients to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
Proactive approach to safety (SWMS, hazard identification, site safety audits, early escalation).
Complete daily forms on time (pre-starts, dockets, near misses, incidents, defects) to support compliance and safe operations.
Engaged in toolbox discussions and committed to ongoing improvement of work practices.
To thrive in this role, you will need
Rail Industry Worker (W.E.T & SARC) desirable but not essential.
Confined space / working at heights experience desirable but not essential.
Previous experience in the waste industry is an advantage, but not essential.
Experience in Civil Construction is beneficial, but not essential.
Exceptional people skills, with the ability to work effectively across various levels of an organisation.
Proficiency in digital platforms.
A proactive, self-starting attitude and a positive approach to work.
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical check.
