Charity Secretary (Volunteer) – Miracle Mums Movement Inc.
About Us
Miracle Mums Movement Inc. is a survivor-led, trauma-informed charity supporting women to rebuild and create their lives after domestic abuse.
We create safe, empowering spaces for women to reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and move forward with strength and support. Our work is grounded in lived experience, compassion, and a deep commitment to doing things differently — with survivors, not for them.
As we grow and expand our impact through funded programs and partnerships, we are looking for a values-aligned Charity Secretary to support strong governance and help us deliver our work with integrity and accountability.
About the Role
This is a volunteer committee position supporting the governance and compliance of the organisation.
While this is primarily a remote role, we are ideally seeking someone based in or near Redcliffe / Moreton Bay (QLD).
This allows for occasional in-person connection, the opportunity to attend workshops and better understand our work on the ground, and practical support with document signing where required.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how not-for-profits operate and wants to contribute meaningfully to a growing, purpose-driven charity.
You will work closely with the President and Committee to ensure we are meeting our governance obligations and maintaining high standards across our operations.
* Prepare and distribute meeting agendas in collaboration with the President
* Attend fortnightly evening committee meetings (via Teams) and take accurate minutes
* Maintain organised and up-to-date governance records and documentation
* Support compliance with ACNC and regulatory requirements
* Assist with tracking key governance actions and decisions
* Support contract governance requirements related to funded program delivery
* Act as a central point of coordination for committee communications
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings both experience and heart.
* Experience in a not-for-profit or charity governance role (essential)
* Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and committee processes
* Experience supporting funded programs or contract delivery (highly regarded)
* Confident in preparing agendas, minutes, and maintaining formal records
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Clear, professional communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a values-driven, volunteer environment
* Be part of a survivor-led movement creating real change in the domestic and family violence space
* Contribute your skills in a way that has genuine, measurable impact
* Work alongside a passionate and supportive committee
* Flexible, remote role that fits around your existing commitments
This is a trauma-informed organisation. We prioritise psychological safety, respect, and integrity in everything we do.
We welcome applicants who align with our mission and values and who understand the importance of working in a space that supports survivors.
