1. The Mission
JD Lighting is more than just a lighting retailer — we're a trusted name for homeowners, electricians, builders, and designers across Australia.
We're looking for a Social Media Creator & Co-Ordinator to help us take our content and online presence to the next level. Your job is to make sure the content we create actually lands: it gets seen, stays on trend, sparks conversation, and builds trust with our audience.
You're not just "posting content."
You're managing the frontline of our brand across social media — retail, trade, and everything in between.
2. The Responsibilities
The Channel Owner
You'll manage JD Lighting's social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn (Retail & Trade). This includes captioning, posting, responding to comments and messages, and staying active with our audience.
The Content Creator
You'll shoot and edit photo and video content — in-store, on-site, product-based, lifestyle, and short-form video. You'll be comfortable filming yourself, filming others, and directing simple shoots with staff, electricians, and builders.
The Idea Factory
You don't wait for instructions. You're constantly spotting trends, sounds, hooks, and formats — and turning lighting products, installs, and store moments into engaging content. You know how to make "boring" look interesting.
The Brand Voice
You'll help shape how JD Lighting shows up online — knowledgeable, approachable, and human. That includes engaging with customers, tradies, and followers in a way that builds trust and community.
The Online Growth Support
You'll also have the opportunity to work in our eCommerce and online content space, including blog writing, website content, and supporting online campaigns and promotions.

You understand why some videos hook instantly and others flop. You know IG Reels, TikTok, and LinkedIn — and how each platform wants content delivered.

Comfortable on Camera
You're happy to be on camera when needed, and confident filming others. You can guide people who aren't used to being filmed and make them look natural.

You're not precious. You test ideas, learn fast, and aren't afraid to try things that might flop — because the winners matter more.
People-Focused
You enjoy interacting with staff, customers, electricians, and builders. Social media to you is about conversation, not just content.

5. Requirements
* Examples of previous work (videos, photos, social profiles, portfolios — personal or professional)
* Strong photography and video creation skills
* Ability to write captions that sound human, not robotic
* Comfortable working in-office and on-site when required
* A great attitude — non-negotiable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
