The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director to join our team for a 12‑month maternity cover. This is a rewarding opportunity for a motivated leader to oversee daily operations, ensure the highest standard of care and education, and continue fostering a supportive environment for staff, families, and the Katherine Community.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the childcare centre, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as ACECQA and the Education and Care National Regulations.
* Lead, motivate and manage a team of childcare professionals to deliver high‑quality education and care in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.
* Build strong relationships with families and community stakeholders to promote the Centre’s values and programmes.
* Manage budgets, staffing and resources efficiently.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all children, staff and visitors.
* Continuously evaluate and improve service quality through reflective practice and professional development.
* Collaborate and communicate clearly with the Board of management.
About You
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
* Proven leadership experience in an Early Years setting.
* Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Frameworks and safeguarding requirements.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to inspire and lead a team while maintaining a child‑centred approach.
* Experience managing budgets and centre resources.
* Familiarity with Xplor or other childcare management software.
* A proactive approach to professional development and quality improvement.
