Position: Diesel Mechanic

Are you a skilled Diesel Mechanic with a passion for engines and a knack for problem-solving? If so, we want you to join our team AJK Engines is an experienced and reputable company specialising in engine building, exchange engines and engine fitting to on highway trucks. We concentrate on Detroit Diesel, Cummins, CAT and Mercedes Benz Engines, committed to excellence in service and performance. We also sell a large range of parts and components. We are currently seeking dedicated Diesel Mechanics to assist in the building and installation of our exchange engines.
Responsibilities:
* Diesel engine assembly.
* Remove and reinstall exchange engines.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure optimal performance of diesel engines.
* Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
* Conduct thorough inspections of diesel vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
* Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
* Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop or field environment.
* Collaborate with other team members to achieve our company goals and objectives.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role, with expertise in diagnosing, repairing and building diesel engines.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
* Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, and cooling systems.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Solid understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to diesel engine repair.
* Qualifications/Certification or completion of an apprenticeship program is preferred.
* Valid driver's license.
