**Our Opportunity**
The Attorney-General's Department (AGD) is growing its workforce planning team. We support AGD by designing, delivering and evaluating a range of workforce project and reporting activities aligned to our new workforce strategy.
Our team lead the design and delivery of AGD's strategic and operational workforce planning. If successful, you will engage with business on the delivery of projects designed to grow the department's workforce planning culture. These activities would not be possible without robust workforce data, and as such, data gathering, improvement and communication activities are foundational to this role.
Our team works closely with our colleagues in HR, our Data and Behavioural Insights branch, and stakeholders across and outside of AGD. If you're motivated by the idea of working with a flexible, passionate and professional workforce delivering on national priorities, this role could be for you.
Activities of the APS5 Workforce Planner include:
- producing a variety of monthly, ad hoc and mandatory workforce reports
- analysing a range of quantitative and qualitative workforce data to assist in workforce planning and business partnering activities
- communicating complex data to audiences in written, visual and oral formats
- supporting new projects, including AGD's transition to automated reporting and GovERP
- assisting in reviewing and developing standard operating procedures, checklists and intranet content with an eye to process improvement.
**Who are we looking for?**
The successful APS5 Workforce Planner will:
- effectively respond to a diverse range of requests and queries, manipulating a range of datasets and navigating a variety of systems
- demonstrate accuracy and efficiency, with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload to ensure task completion to deadlines
- utilise business intelligence to confirm HR data, and use HR metrics to inform and measure workforce actions
- demonstrate accuracy and efficiency in working with large datasets, ensuring data quality by maintaining and cleansing records
- maintain a high standard of confidentiality and privacy.
- possess well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
- possess strong integrity, resilience and problem-solving skills
- possess a high level of data literacy, and the ability to analyse data to produce insights
- think strategically, translating AGD's goals and external trends into workforce implications
- demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and strong organisation skills
- solve problems, identify improvements and offer credible, consistent advice
- have experience working with and analysing data in Microsoft Excel (or similar)
