Overview
Singleton Council's Development and Environment Group is seeking a Cadet Development Planner to support the Planning Services team. You will provide timely and accurate advice on planning matters, prepare professional reports, and assist with the assessment of development applications. The role includes administrative support, site inspections, and the provision of duty planner services under supervision.
Responsibilities
* Support Development Planners, Senior Development Planners and the Coordinator of Planning and Development in the assessment of development applications.
* Provide timely and accurate advice on planning matters.
* Prepare professional reports and correspondence.
* Take minutes for Pre‐Development Application Meetings, as required.
* Assist in the provision of Duty Planner services under supervision.
* Perform administrative tasks to understand the development assessment process.
* Conduct supervised site inspections.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in the second last or final year of a Degree in Town Planning or an equivalent qualification.
* Right to work in Australia.
* Will undergo a thorough screening process prior to appointment.
* Ability to work on a term contract basis of up to 35 hours per week, with flexibility in study arrangements.
* Remuneration in accordance with the Local Government Award (range $2353‐$2460 per fortnight plus superannuation).
