Role overview As a Maternal & Child Health Nurse and Midwife within our private hospital framework, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal stages. You will work collaboratively with obstetricians, paediatricians, lactation consultants, and allied health to deliver family-centred services that reflect current clinical guidelines and community needs. Key responsibilities Conduct prenatal and postnatal consultations, assessments, and education for expectant and new parents. Support labour preparation, early labour management, and immediate post-birth care consistent with midwifery scope of practice. Perform newborn checks, developmental surveillance, immunisation counselling, and breastfeeding support. Coordinate referrals, liaise with community health services, and contribute to discharge planning and transitional care. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and adhere to safety standards. What we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and formal midwifery qualification; current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) preferred. Minimum of three years’ relevant experience; applicants with 3–6, 7–10, 11 or extensive senior experience are encouraged to apply. Eligible to work in Australia: Australian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an appropriate work visa.
