Senior Telecommunications (CER) Engineer
Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‐motivated Senior Telecoms (CER) Engineer to thrive in a fast‐paced environment. The role is based in Brisbane, Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, test, integrate and commission Communications Equipment Rooms (CERs) and associated telecom infrastructure for rail projects.
* Lead CER design activities, developing and reviewing rack layouts, cable schedules, power distribution and battery system arrangements, and equipment integration and interface requirements.
* Support testing and commissioning activities to ensure CERs and telecom systems meet approved designs, technical standards and project requirements.
* Collaborate within the Telecommunications Engineering Design and Delivery Team to integrate telecom systems across equipment rooms, wayside sites and project interfaces.
Qualifications & Experience
* 10+ years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure design, testing and integration, preferably on large‐scale Australian rail or infrastructure projects.
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, suitable for full membership with Engineers Australia.
* Demonstrated expertise in CER/equipment room design, including rack layouts, cable schedules, power and battery systems, and equipment interfaces.
* Experience in testing, commissioning and integration of telecommunications systems and infrastructure.
* Strong ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
* Experience working with radio, transmission, power and telecoms infrastructure systems.
* Well‐developed organisational skills, managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
* Collaborative communication style, able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
